We'd like to send a huge thank you to everyone who participated, and especially to Tomorrow's Topkids Child Care Society, Garden City Elementary School, and Letters for Better Days!
The Giving Truck is a non-profit organization based out of Richmond, BC. Their goal is to inspire everyone to do random acts of kindness and to volunteer for the marginalized population in our community. The actual Giving Truck is a mobile donation vehicle that brings food, clothing, and creative items to different cities - but they also partner with different organizations to provide services such as haircuts, pet therapy, and more!
Our teams have known each other since elementary school, and one of their founders (Raisa) was our high school classmate! While we were brainstorming Christmas card ideas in the back of our school library, Raisa and her sister were coming up with ways to make The Giving Truck a reality.
Working alongside The Giving Truck was an incredible experience, and not just because we're all friends. Their continual kindness and strive to care for the community inspire us, and we hope we'll have another chance to work with their team after the pandemic. Happy 2021 to everyone! We are kicking off the new year partnering with another local organization, The Giving Truck, to provide Valentine's Day care packages to senior homes across the Lower Mainland.
‼️We are looking for volunteers to make/buy some cards which will be included in these packages.‼️
Details are as follows:
💝 Design an appropriate Valentine's Day related card cover. The inside may be left blank, which we can help fill in for you.
💝 The amount of cards is up to the volunteer.
💝 Card pick-up before or on February 8 (Monday).
